A constituent
society of the
American Society for
Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS)

ASCLS members who are Texas residents when they join
or renew their membership are automatically members of TACLS. As required by ASCLS Bylaws, an individual must hold membership at the state
and national levels.

Texas is part of
ASCLS Region VII, which also
includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma.

TACLS publishes a newsletter -
TACLS News
to keep members informed about the
activities of their state association.

TACLS provides continuing
education opportunities throughout the year, through traveling seminars and
local meetings.

Our premier CE event is the
TACLS Annual Meeting
held in March or April of each year. The location of the annual meeting
rotates among major Texas cities.

TACLS is a founding member of the
Texas Clinical Laboratory Coalition for Quality
The mission of TACLS is consistent with the Mission/Vision
Statement of ASCLS.
ASCLS Mission/Vision Statement
ASCLS serves as the voice of all clinical
laboratory professionals, creating a vision for the advancement of
the clinical laboratory practice field, and advocating the value and
the role of the profession ensuring safe, effective, efficient,
equitable, and patient centered health care.

The Texas
Association for Clinical Laboratory Science
has conducted a survey of clinical laboratory
managers across Texas, to gather data on staffing. This is the first
laboratory specific study on the
magnitude of the personnel shortage in our state. Contact
