Director's Column

Welcome to the ASCLS Region VII Web site.

ASCLS is structured into ten Regions.  Each state and Puerto Rico belong to one of the ten Regions. The map below will show you which states compose each Region.  Region VII includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Each Region has a Regional Director who is also a member of the ASCLS Board of Directors.  Thus, every Region has a voice in ASCLS.  The Region VII Council is composed of the Presidents and Vice-Presidents from each of the states and the Student Representative.  We meet 3 times a year to plan activities, discuss problems, collaborate and carry on the general business of the Region.  One meeting is in the fall, another in the spring and the last (our Regional Caucus) is at the national ASCLS meeting.  Our fall and spring meetings are held by teleconference to keep expenses in control.

Regional Caucus

The date of World Congress 2002 was held on July 29-August 3, 2002. The Regional Caucus was held on August 2, 2000 from 7:30 - 8:45 at the ASCLS annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.

We will post minutes of our Regional meetings on this website so that you can learn about what is happening in our Region.  Please feel free to contact any member of the Region Council if you need assistance or information.
