Coordinator Position
Medical
Laboratory Sciences Faculty Position
The University of Texas Southwestern Allied Health Sciences School is
seeking an Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor to prepare lab
sessions for senior and junior medical technology courses, including
specimen acquisition, maintenance of microbiology stock cultures, and
equipment set-up. Assist the lead course instructors in teaching the lab
portion of medical technology courses. Teach such courses as urinalysis,
introduction to human disease, and introduction to medical laboratory
sciences. The qualified candidate will coordinate senior students’
urinalysis practicum, elective practica, and preclinical experiences. Assist
the departmental Special Projects Coordinator in the design and
implementation of alternative educational tracks. Participate in
departmental activities, including student advisement, student recruitment,
scholarship, and service.
Qualifications include: MT(ASCP) and/or CLS(NCA) certification and a
minimum of bachelors degree (masters degree preferred). Minimum of three
years clinical lab experience. Prior teaching experience preferred.
Excellent personal computer and trouble-shooting skills preferred.
