This a 9 month full time non-tenure track position with
a tentative starting date of 23 August 2004. Duties will include teaching
three three-hour laboratory sections of General Biology I, General Biology
II, Human Anatomy, or Human Physiology for the Department of Science and
Mathematics at the University of Texas-Permian Basin (UTPB) and two
three-hour clinical laboratory science laboratories for the University of
Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) distance Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS)
program, per semester. The successful candidate will also be responsible for
recruiting and advising CLS students for UTMB.
Qualifications include: Applicants must hold a national
laboratory certification such as CLS (NCA) or MT (ASCP). Additional minimum
qualifications include a master’s degree in biology or a closely related
area with at least 18 hours of course work in biology and 3 years teaching
experience in a clinical laboratory science program. Salary to be
determined based on experience and rank.
